The College Library observed Librarian’s day on 20th December every year in the memory of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, father of Library science in India. The programme started with garlanding the photograph of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan by our esteemed Principal and flowers by our faculty members. Students also actively participated this programme. We enlightened the contribution of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan and also development of Library and information science in education system in India. Dr. Ranganathan changed the total scenario in Library and information science not only across the country but abroad. The main aim of this programme is to gratitude to the great soul of Dr. Ranganathan who transformed the Librarian’s from a mere book keeper to information scientist in the world. All the dignitaries shared their views about the Library and modern Library development in the present context. The programme ended with the aspiration of welcoming new ideas and thought to provide better user services and qualitive growth of Library and Library staff and also vote of thanks.
